The Platinum Consort
Scott Inglis-Kidger Artistic Director Scott Inglis-Kidger read music at Cambridge University, where he was a choral scholar in King’s College Choir. He specialised in early music, conducting and musical science. He studied voice with David Lowe and performed many solo recitals as a countertenor. With King’s College Choir, Scott toured around the world and performed with high profile ensembles such as the Academy of Ancient Music and the Britten Sinfonia. He founded and directs The Platinum Consort, a professional vocal ensemble specialising in music of the sixteenth century and newly commissioned works. Scott taught the bagpipes at King’s College School, Cambridge, before being appointed Director of Music at Willington Independent Preparatory School for boys in Wimbledon in 2006. Some of his projects at Willington have included the establishment of a group of professional choristers, an Elizabethan period performance at Hampton Court Palace, and the commissioning of a communion setting for choir. With the Willington School Choristers, he has recently toured to Prague and performed on national television and radio in Malta. In addition, the choristers have been conducted by Malcolm Archer at Winchester College and have performed with James Bowman. In September 2009, Scott took up the posts of Director of Music at Thomas's Battersea (part of Thomas's London Day Schools) and Director of Thomas's Choral Society. His debut with TCS was Haydn's Creation in November 2009. |
